The global precision medicine market has already exceeded USD 60 billion and is expected to maintain a growth rate of around 15% over the next three to five years. With breakthroughs in diagnostic and treatment technologies and support from medical insurance policies, precision medicine is expected to provide comprehensive, full-cycle healthcare services.

To better respond to the wave of the precision medicine era, Obama proposed the "Precision Medicine Initiative," while precision medicine in China was included among the top 100 projects of the 13th Five-Year Plan. These developments have brought multiple favorable policy benefits to the international pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. In addition, the report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China once again placed a strong emphasis on "people's health" and focused on promoting domestic precision medicine, with the aim of moving China into the first tier of global precision medicine development.
At a time when nationwide efforts were being made to advance the iteration of medical development, the 2nd Sino-U.S. Precision Medicine Decision-Makers Cooperation and Development Forum 2018 (PMF2018), hosted by Shanghai Decision-Makers Group and co-organized by the Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Industry Association, was grandly held in Shanghai from June 13 to 15, with the aim of building a platform for international policy and technology exchange and industrial cooperation.
