Oracle Translation Strongly Supports the 2015 International Maker Week

In Shenzhen, known as the “Hollywood of Hardware,” makers turn bold and imaginative ideas into reality. Behind these ideas lies Shenzhen’s ambition—to evolve from a manufacturing hub to a city of design, and ultimately into a city of innovation. Compared with the city’s long-established and large-scale forces in technological innovation, the maker community may still be relatively small in scale, but they are among the most sensitive to trends in technological innovation and the regional innovation environment. They are both trendsetters and pioneers. In this vibrant June, Shenzhen’s maker community is welcoming a major event—the first Shenzhen International Maker Week will be held from June 18 to 22, bringing together makers from more than 40 countries to celebrate a grand gathering of maker culture.

Under the theme of "Maker Shenzhen," the 2015 Shenzhen International Maker Week featured a variety of formats, including themed forums, professional exhibitions, maker workshops, and maker competitions. The event hosted 14 themed activities, including Maker Faire Shenzhen Maker Fest, the Fab Lab Interactive Experience Exhibition, the "Makers and the Future" Summit Forum, the Cross-Strait Maker Power Exhibition, the International Fab Lab (Shenzhen) Authorization Conference, the Global Maker Marathon, the Global Smart Hardware Maker Camp and the Opening Ceremony of Shenzhen Bay Startup Plaza, the "Mass Innovation Longgang" series of activities, the Launch Ceremony of the Backpacker Space Station and the "Create with Shenzhen" Maker Works Exhibition, and the International Maker Open Competition. Covering popular fields such as open-source innovation, smart manufacturing, wearable devices, robotics, and 3D printing, the event brought together hardware engineers, programmers, designers, software and hardware enthusiasts, and people with creative ideas from around the world for case sharing and on-site experiences. Leveraging the Shenzhen International Maker Week as a platform, the event helped promote Shenzhen as the world's "Silicon Valley of Hardware" and build it into an international maker hub.
Oracle Translation (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. provided Chinese-English simultaneous interpretation services for the forum. The interpreters' professional and precise performance won high praise from guests both in China and abroad. This conference is one of the most influential industry events in China.
